The Private Penthouse, designed by the renowned Fouad Naayem, is a masterpiece that seamlessly blends luxury, functionality, and contemporary design. With its open and airy layout, the penthouse offers a sense of space and tranquility that is truly unparalleled. The furniture arrangement in the reception area creates an inviting atmosphere, with two chairs facing two couches, all centered around a white marble textured wall adorned with a captivating painting. The zenithal lighting above the wall allows natural light to flood in, creating the illusion that the wall extends through the ceiling.
One of the highlights of the penthouse is the fireplace, which not only adds warmth but also serves as a stylish focal point. The red painting on the metal wall adds a vibrant touch of color to the predominantly black, white, and grey palette. A corridor leads from the reception area to the dining room and kitchen, with an illuminated decorative resin panel separating the dining room and corridor, creating a more intimate ambiance.
As one ascends the stairs to the second floor, they are greeted by a lounge reading area that overlooks the reception. The master suite, a haven of supreme luxury, features two separate dressing rooms and mirror stainless steel sliding panels that blend seamlessly with the decor. The suite is completed with sliding frosted glass doors, which conceal a spacious dressing room and a kitchenette connected to the main kitchen through a dumbwaiter. The rooftop of the penthouse offers a panoramic pool and an intimate terrace with a drink bar and built-in couches, providing the perfect retreat from the bustling city.
The Private Penthouse is not only visually stunning but also incorporates sustainable features. The double-height ceiling of the main reception area, along with glass roof panels and floor-to-ceiling windows equipped with aluminum motorized electric louvers, allows for ample natural light while reducing the need for electric lighting and protecting the apartment from excessive heat.
The choice of materials in the penthouse is equally impressive, with a mixture of white Statuary marble, ebony wood, polished chrome, Bardiglio grey marble, and striated metal adding a touch of luxury to the contemporary design. The cracked wall with indirect lighting, inspired by a wall rupture, adds an additional element of extravagance to the penthouse.
Located in the heart of Ashrafieh, Lebanon, the Private Penthouse is a testament to the creativity and vision of Fouad Naayem. The construction of the building took four years, with the interior works being done in parallel with the progress of the building over the last three years. The penthouse offers a unique blend of urban living and a serene retreat, making it the perfect home for the modern city dweller.
The Private Penthouse has been recognized for its exceptional design, winning the Bronze A' Design Award in 2020 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology to improve the quality of life.
